Job Title: North Indian Chef
Job Summary
A North Indian Chef is responsible for preparing authentic North Indian cuisine such as curries, breads, tandoori dishes, and gravies while maintaining high standards of taste, quality, hygiene, and presentation. The chef ensures efficient kitchen operations, proper ingredient usage, and consistency in food preparation.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook North Indian dishes including curries, gravies, kebabs, tandoori items, biryanis, and breads like naan, roti, and paratha.
Operate and manage the tandoor for cooking items such as tandoori chicken, paneer tikka, naan, and kebabs.
Ensure taste consistency, portion control, and presentation standards.
Maintain food safety and hygiene standards as per kitchen guidelines.
Plan daily mise en place and ensure ingredients are ready before service.
Monitor inventory levels and inform management about stock requirements.
Minimize food wastage and manage ingredients efficiently.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and cooking stations.
Work closely with the kitchen team to ensure timely food preparation during service hours.
Assist in menu planning and new dish development when required.
Required Skills
Strong knowledge of North Indian cuisine and spices.
Experience in tandoor cooking techniques.
Ability to prepare gravies, curries, and traditional dishes.
Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices.
Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
Time management and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
Certification in Culinary Arts / Hotel Management (preferred).
1–3 years of experience as a North Indian Chef or Tandoor Chef.
Experience in restaurants, hotels, or catering kitchens.
Working Conditions

Ability to stand for long periods and work in a hot kitchen environment.
